Gardens for Health is an international NGO that works in partnership with health centers to integrate agriculture and health education into the prevention and treatment of malnutrition
Job Description
The Program Manager will oversee the day-to-day activities of our health center program in multiple districts, overseeing the work of a diverse, cross-cultural team. 2014-2015 marks a critical period for the program as GHI plans to grow rapidly. The Program Manager will be responsible for devising operational systems and best practices to ensure that the program runs smoothly at current and future sites. S/he will also be responsible for managing the program team, including field staff and middle management.
Responsibilities
The Program Manager responsibilities include:
  • Liaise with health center partners to coordinate activities
  • Manage the program budget
  • Manage the program team, including providing regular supervision and reviews to middle management
  • Participate in training field staff and middle management
  • Hold regular program meetings and gather feedback
  • Participate in strategic planning
Desired Skills and Experience
·         Excellent English, French, Kinyarwanda
·         Master's degree preferred
·         Public health experience and degree preferred
·         Experience with program coordination and management
·         Experience working with an international organization
·         Experience with budget management
·         Advanced proficiency with Excel
·         Excellent oral and written communication skills
·         Ability to work independently and collaboratively
·         Organizational skills and attention to detail
·         Excellent interpersonal skills

·         Background experience in nutrition preferred
Compensation and Benefits
Modest salary to start with raises based on performance. Health Insurance.
