Compliance and Research Officer (Pharmacy Graduates) Job in Kenya

Our client is in the cleaning and Hygiene services industry currently looking to recruit a young pharmacy graduate to take up the position of a Compliance and Research Officer
Duties:
1. Liaison with Pharmacy Board on product registrations and company compliance with Pharmacy Act
2. Liaison with Pest Control Products Board and company compliance with PCPB Act
3. Liaison with KEBS and compant compliance with Standards Act
4. Collection of and delivery of samples for testing at SGS/Sciantec, collation of results of the same for mineral range
5. Quality Control on mineral salt production at factory, reporting on the same, developing Standard Operating Procedures.
4. Reporting to the Directors on the same on a monthly basis
5. Gathering market information required by the Regional Sales Manager and company directors
a. Competitor information
b. Target market information – dairy, poultry, beef etc. Production information, emerging trends etc
c. Supplier information – bag manufacturers etc
d. Collating information bought in from field operatives and adding to Monthly Market Information report.
6. Reporting to the Directors on the same on a monthly basis
7. Ensuring corporate compliance to Standard Operating Procedures for Sales/Marketing and Factory and developing and updating the same
8. Liaison with suppliers on corporate compliance
Monthly reports: Corporate Compliance, Market Information, Quality Control (Minerals)
Will be expected to travel around Nairobi primarily gathering information. Motorcycle available for the same so a willingness to get licenced/use the bike is a must.
Good interpersonal skills, written and spoken English, good skills in Office programmes Word Excel Powerpoint.
Salary: Shs 30,000

This position reports to the General Manager – Pharmaceutical and the General Manager – Consumer Healthcare.
The successful candidate’s principal purpose will be to lead the development of the pharmacy channel strategy for GSK East Africa, including development of new sales, detailing, and distribution models to drive improved reach, productivity and commercial propositions across the Pharmaceutical and Consumer businesses.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • To successfully develop and lead the implementation of a pharmacy channel strategy, including improved sales, detailing, and distribution model
  • To lead and inspire the pharmacy channel sales team to deliver against the KPIs and growth targets
  • To adopt and Imbed an enterprise thinking mind set to effectively lead the organizational change process, integrating the new team and way of working into the business
  • Gain buy-in and engagement from wider organisation and key external stakeholders to achieve ambition
  • Lead cross functional teams to drive alignment and provide the environment for excellent execution
  • Manage the P&L for brands and products sold as part of the pharmacy channel Initiative
  • Structure sales Incentives for pharmacy channel sales force to ensure KPIs are met or exceeded and performance rewarded
  • Manage, coach and lead the pharmacy channel team to drive excellent execution, motivation and performance
  • Drive and track delivery of KPIs and growth targets to monitor performance and progress of the pharmacy channel initiative. Implement course correction activities if required
  • Define and ensure Implementation of pharmacy team capability improvement plan
  • Effectively implement a talent management programme for existing and new team members
  • Lead and manage distribution channel plans and activities including distributor contracts, negotiations and performance management
  • Ensure compliance requirements with GSK policies and procedures are met and robust governance structures are in place to manage compliance
  • To ensure IT and Business systems are aligned across Pharmaceutical and Consumer businesses to support performance monitoring and management.
Qualifications & Knowledge
  • The ideal candidate must have a strong commercial background, deep knowledge of in-country distribution activity and challenges as well as experience in strategy and execution with at least 8 years experience.
  • The person must have ideally led teams within either Pharmaceutical or Consumer businesses and be a holder of a degree in either sciences, sales, commercial or marketing related discipline.
  • A Masters degree will be an added advantage.
  • He /She should have strong influence skills, communication, leadership capability track record of delivery and coming up with Innovative, commercially viable solutions.

Pharmacist-Uganda Jobs

About HAU:
Since 1993, Hospice Africa Uganda (HAU) has promoted modern methods of pain and symptom control as well as holistic care for patients living withcancer and HIV/AIDs. HAU strives to uphold excellent clinical standards and provide quality education courses and advocacy activities to promote the spread of palliative care throughout Uganda and Africa. Hospice Africa Uganda has a head office in Kampala and field offices in Hoima and Mbarara.

Job Summary: The Pharmacist will be in charge of the production of morphine, and compliance to good manufacturing practice, support quality control and assurance for the production unit, monitoring, packaging and dispensing of medicines, and offer professional consultation to the patients and HAU.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The job holder will be the pharmacist for the morphine production unit at HAU;
  • Offer support quality control & quality assurance for the dispensing pharmacy and morphine production unit;
  • Ensure that drug orders and prescriptions are properly processed;
  • Take steps required to fill prescriptions in compliance with all laws, regulations, and organization policies and procedures;
  • Ensure good prescriptions dispensing practices;
  • Respond to questions from patients and clinicians in regards to knowledge of prescription & pharmaceutical products;
  • Oversee and mentor the pharmacy & morphine production unit team across the three HAU sites;
  • Manage complaints from patients, organization partners and others related; Offer expert advice and counsel regarding dispensing & pharmacy related issues; Lead stock taking, auditing, and research within & for the pharmacy;
  • Actively participate in the clinical management of patients;
  • Be involved in education of the clinical & other teams regarding medications & pharmaceutical issues;
  • Participate in Education programs in IHPCA.

 Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant should possess a good bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or university.
  • The applicant must also be registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda, with at least two years’ experience in a busy pharmaceutical set up;
  • Good organizational skills, leadership, managerial and excellent communication skills;
  • Prior experience with small scale pharmaceutical manufacturing industry and with morphine, training in Good Manufacturing
  • Practices and HSP will be added advantage.
