What you’ll do
  • Interact & support drivers through branded interaction at all stages of onboarding
  • Track, order, configure, and disburse equipment to drivers
  • Help with onboarding drivers onto the Uber system
  • Maintain and organize driver documentation
  • Find resolutions to driver issues and questions
  • Respond to support issues both in-person and over email promptly
  • Work closely with the driver operations and logistics teams to streamline process
  • Be the operational glue that holds together major team efforts for large events, promotions and program initiatives
What you’ll need
  • 2-4 years of operations/analytical studies or related experience (undergraduate or work-experience)
  • Combination of analytical thinking & inter-personal ability to manage partnerships and partner-driver relationships
  • Relevant experience in SQL &/or logistics management is a plus

About the Opportunity:  
Global Communities seeks an IT Officer, reporting directly to the Director of operations  to support the Improved Services for Vulnerable Populations (ISVP) Program funded by USAID through PEPFAR.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The IT Officer provides technical support for the administrative and program staff in all that pertains to internet/intranet and communication technology devices used in the office. The main duties are:
  1. Implements and administers technologies and processes that ensures the reliability, efficiency, and availability of the production environment.
  • Maximizes system utilization.  Ensures sufficient capacity.
  • Administers system backups.  Ensures data availability and recoverability.
  • Conducts performance reviews on platforms and implements tuning changes.
  • Administers the operating systems, database, network software and interfaces.
  • Initiates and maintains systems, network and storage management.
  1. Ensures the consistent quality of services is provided to customers
  • Receives and responds to support requests. Documents incidents, interaction, and solution within Service Desk application.  Communicates status of problems to customers.
  • Monitors and manages group and individual queues and distributes Service Desk tickets.
  1. Installs and maintains client hardware, software, and peripherals. Maintains hardware and software inventory. Collaborates with Headquarters IT Services to ensure efficient operation of computing environment.
  2. Provides support/guidance on the maintenance, repair, and procurement of hardware and software devices for the office.
  3. Provides staff with basic training on the use of any new software or technology device adopted by the office.

  • Certification from a recognized ICT training institute.
  • Prior experience working with an INGO.
  • Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural context as a flexible and respectful team player.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated computer and typing skills; Excel and WinWord skills are essential.

Global Communities seeks a Management Information Systems (MIS) Manager, reporting directly to the Director for Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL), to support the Improved Services for Vulnerable Populations (ISVP) Program funded by USAID through PEPFAR.
Position Description:
The MIS Manager will oversee and support the development, management, and security of the management information systems (MIS).  This includes training and mentoring program staff and partners to effectively use the system both for tracking and securing vital information, as well as running reports to analyze data for timely and informed decision-making.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a technology vision to achieve the program’s monitoring, evaluation, learning and research agenda.
  • Identify, test, and use cutting edge, innovative technology solutions to enable the program to automate, simplify, and refine processes that generate critical reports with secure and accurate data to track and measure progress over time.
  • Design, administer, test, troubleshoot, and implement the program’s MIS and related technology platforms, including backup and recovery management solutions; proactive health-checks and maintain security and database software;  database performance tuning; and lead planning and execution of annual and ad-hoc “snapshot” database instances.
  • Ensure that the MIS provides a robust platform for managing key program data that is user-friendly, accurate, complete and accessible to a wide range of stakeholders while meeting the highest levels of security.
  • Ensure that the MIS incorporates Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to track project and activity location data. Periodically generate geographic reports and digital maps in line with USAIDs geographic data reporting requirements.  
  • Develop staff and partner capacity to use the MIS, including data entry, analysis and reporting.
  • Oversee the execution of key technology decisions. Lead key processes to define the architecture and deliver functionality that anticipates and meets evolving needs.
  • Support the development of program reports by applying the MIS to generate required statistics and data 
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants for this position must demonstrate capacity to deliver results, and a strong commitment to professional ethics and integrity.  In addition, they must meet the following requirements:
Education: 
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology required; Master’s degree desired.
Experience: 
  • A minimum of 3 years experience with increasing responsibilities in management information systems – including new technologies.
  • Advanced database and programming knowledge for complex USAID projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, test, and implement new technologies to simplify and improve work processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of GIS technology
Computer Skills:
  • Superior computer skills with advanced knowledge of computer applications and net technologies.
Language capabilities:
  • Fluency in oral and written English and Kinyarwanda.

Education, Skills and Experience Required for the position

  • The ideal candidate must have strong leadership skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Degree in Information Technology/Comp Science / MBA preferred.

  • 5+ years of expertise in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including: firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points and controllers, and monitoring applications

  • Expert level skills with Windows and Mac Operating Systems.
  • VMware Enterprise administration experience
