Duties and Responsibilities
a) Ensures the smooth running of the University affairs through the availability of the office space, equipment and other cleanliness tools and to ensure that they are in good condition for everyday uses.
b) Arranges office accommodation and be responsible for acquisition and supply of office equipment and stationery.
c) Ensures availability and proper use of office equipment and resources.
d) Keeps records accurately, allocates work fairly and supervises the working of junior employees.
e) Prepares the university transportation guideline and maintains its implementation.
f) Performs any other duties as delegated to him/her by his/her seniors.
4. Loan Desk Officer (one post)

Qualifications
i) Holders of Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economic/Business Administration/Entrepreneurship OR Equivalent.
ii) Working experience of not less than 3 years in Academic or Financial Institutions.
iii) Must be able to communicate in English fluently.
iv) Basic skills in Microsoft office application/Excel.
Duties and Responsibilities
a) To deal with all loan issues for students.
b) To receive and keep a database of students approved to receive loan from Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB)/Zanzibar Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (ZHESLB) or any related Institutions and use the information to raise claims and invoices as various installment fall due.
c) To validate actual existence of students contained in pay- sheets sent to Higher Education Institutions by HESLB/ZHESLB or any related Institutions, before such student are paid.
d) To Passover validated pay- sheet to Accountant of their institution for onward paying only the eligible students contained in such pay-sheet.
e) To keep record of loans for students.
f) To handle and follow up loan argument for student in relevant institutions.
g) Performs any other duties as delegated to him/her by his/her seniors.
5. Office Management Secretary (one post) – Re-advertised

Qualifications
i. Holders of Diploma in secretarial studies OR Equivalent qualification from recognize institutions.
ii. Applicant must be fluent in Swahili and English languages, Knowledge of other language will be an added advantage.
iii. Applicant must have working experience of not less than 3 years with high level of discipline.

Qualifications
i) Holders of Form IV Certificate or equivalent.

Duties and Responsibilities
a) After receiving appropriate orientation, an Attendant will be assigned duties of cleanliness, order and serving as per specific requirement of the area of deployment.
b) Ensures safety and security of office facilities at his/her control.
c) Ensures safety and health of office users.
d) Assists in the organization of the University meeting.
e) Serves the senior staff and University meeting.
f) Assists the registry in the work of controlling and tracing the internal file.
g) Performs any other activities assigned by his/her seniors.

Peace Corps (PC) is an agency of the United States Government, which brings American volunteer development workers to assist Uganda in capacity building and technical assistance activities in Health, Education and Community Economic Development. Job Summary: The Training and Organizational Learning Manager will primarily create, manage and coordinate systems and staff and volunteers where innovative and effective international level training and organizational learning flourishes. This involve planning, systems and administrative management of all training events for all Volunteer groups and ensure a systemic approach to incorporate learning into the organizational culture for Peace Corps Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Steers the training and programming team and other staff in designing and delivering all training programs and curricula that meets learners' needs for technical, cross-cultural, language, health, safety and security incorporating international headquarters and Uganda requirements for Volunteers, staff, trainees and homestay families.
  • Works with senior staff to develop skills, set resources, and time to ensure quality of holistic organizational processes to disseminate and adopt new learning by staff and Volunteers.
  • Develop strategies to create and sustain a continuous learning-organization culture for Peace Corps staff in their daily execution of duties.
  • Develops and acquires new training and organizational learning methods from a variety of local and international development sources and implements those methods in collaboration with staff under the leadership and guidance of the Country Director, Director of Programming and Training Director of Management and Operations to improve and enhance training programs and to contribute to the learning culture of the organization.
  • Oversees, coordinates and manages the training unit staff, and temporary training contractors.
  • Creates and manages training budgets.
  • Guides and collaborates in the preparation of training assessment criteria for trainees and trainers, including performance appraisal for all learners.  

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant should hold a Master's Degree in any discipline, preferably in Education, Adult Education, Business Administration, or Organizational Behavior; or the equivalent in experience. 
  • At least eight years’ experience in progressively more complex roles in training and/ or organizational management preferably with international, cross-cultural organization.
  • Significant experience in managing a training unit including hiring part-time trainers, conducting training needs assessments, creating budgets, designing and evaluating complex multi-week trainings and deliver learning sessions that include international audiences or participants.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to strategize needs of learning organization and implement change for increased organizational effectiveness.
  • Professional training and organizational development experience with excellent command of verbal and written English.
  • Possess the ability to work independently with little or no supervision; good organization and time management skills; willingness to take initiative; teamwork skills; strong service attitude; personal integrity and strong interest in Uganda's development.

    Reports To: Elementary School Principal

    Scope of Responsibilities:
    The elementary guidance counsellor serves the emotional and developmental needs of the students in Pre-kindergarten through Grade 5 students (4-11 years olds) through one-on-one and small-group counselling, collaboration with classroom teachers and the Child Support Team, and provision of developmental instruction at appropriate levels.
    The counsellor is also a critical member of the elementary leadership team, providing support to the Principal and working closely with team leaders.
    Additionally, the counsellor will be expected to participate in a variety of collaborative teams and committees; fulfil supervision duties as assigned, including some evening and weekend events; serve as advisor to a small group of students; and supervise/coach one co-curricular activity throughout the year.

    Specific Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Child Support Team in identifying and addressing the needs of exceptional students: academic, emotional and social considerations.
  • Providing support to students identified as having academic challenges or emotional/social issues.
  • Consult with parents and staff on student related concerns.
  • Conduct student admissions testing.
  • Co-ordinate any standardized testing by training teachers and informing parents.
  • Provide a transition-in and transition-out program for new and exiting students.

  • Participate as one of the staff advisors of the elementary Peer Helpers program.
  • Participate in the one-three annual overnight intercultural field trips (Grades 3 to 5.)
  • Collaborate with colleagues in bringing the ISK Educational Aims to life.
  • Assume leadership of the elementary section of ISK when the principal is absent from school.
  • Meet regularly with the elementary principal for updating and planning.
    Required Qualifications, Skills and Qualities:
  • Bachelors Degree in Psychology or Counselling
  • Counsellor’s certification from an accredited university/college
  • Minimum 2 years relevant counselling experience
  • Student-centred and nurturing personality
  • Commitment to collaborative planning
  • Proficient with educational, administrative and communication technology
  • Fluent English speaker with excellent writing skills
  • Flexibility and creativity
    Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Qualities:
  • Masters Degree in Counselling
  • Counselling experience in a multi-cultural setting
  • Experience with administering a variety of tests and analyzing/communicating results
  • Experience in data analysis and goal setting to improve professional skills
  • Experience in a classroom setting.
