About Aegis Social Enterprise: Aegis aims to combat the far-reaching effects genocide has on individuals and communities, effects that continue years after the immediate conflict has ended. As a result of the genocide in Rwanda many survivors were unable to finish school or were left with no jobs to return to. Financial hardships, in addition to serious health problems and trauma associated with the loss of loved ones, continue to create unbearable challenges for survivors even today.

Our Social Enterprises aim to provide immediate income opportunities for those most affected by the genocide, while offering training and support for a sustainable future. A social enterprise is a business that produces both social and financial returns. In our case both the social and financial returns feed directly back into our peace-building work, survivor support and to ensure the sustainability of our Social Enterprises.
Through our Social Enterprises, we offer beneficiaries career opportunities in various industries by providing training in high-demand areas such as tourism, customer care and the culinary arts. We are committed to providing top-level training in skills that will create the best career opportunities for our beneficiaries and generate income to support Aegis’ continued work in Rwanda.
