Position: Branch Accountant 
Department: Finance
Reports To: Head of Finance
Nature and Scope of the Position
The Branch Accountant is responsible for finance duties in the Retail centers. They should be able to work with minimal supervision and be proactive.
Duties
  • Overall in charge of Account Assistants in 3 branches.
  • Petty cash disbursements, timely accounting and re-imbursement and update of all relevant expenses.
  • Management of stocks in the branches with monthly stock takes and variance analysis and action thereof.
  • Monitoring of branch performance and weekly reports of revenues versus the sales targets.
  • Timely billing and reconciliation of weekly sales to the respective retail centers account.
  • Accurate and timely posting in the Accounting system and reconciliation of all branch operations. (E.g. sales, purchases, expenses and bankings.)
  • Quarterly audits for all retail centers
  • Ensuring stringent adherence to the Internal Control Systems and the ISO procedures.
  • Daily customer receipts, bankings and posting in the accounting system.
  • Customers credit applications due diligence and filing for all the branches in liaison with the Accountant in charge of accounts receivables.
  • Records management to ensure proper filing, confidentiality and compliance.
  • Revenue assurance of all sales in the branches to ensure optimum profitability of the branches.
  • Supplier relationship management for all the branches.
  • To undertake other duties as and when requested.
Qualifications 
  • CPA (K) OR B.Com Accounting/Finance Option/Bcom Finance/Accounting and CPA (K)

About The Position
  • Manage, Monitor and grow NKSE’s dairy, agribusiness, consumer products, and poultry divisions.
  • Responsible for managing finances, operations and human resources of the different business activities of Nuru Kenya Social Enterprises (NKSE)
  • Responsible for meeting predetermined financial targets of Nuru Kenya Social Enterprises
Specific Job Functions
  • Manage finances and daily operations of NKSE’s four business divisions (poultry, agribusiness, consumer products and dairy)
  • Create financial models, forecasts and budgets for NKSE’s four business lines
  • Conduct regular analysis and audits of NKSE’s finances
  • Manage and coach NKSE team (20+)
  • Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including the National Cereal and Produce Board and large-scale buyers and suppliers
  • Report all business activities to senior management
  • Create quarterly reports of NKSE activities
  • Secure external financing for business operations
  • Meet annual NKSE financial targets and business objectives
  • Develop strategy for NKSE and make data driven decision
  • Perform any other duty as may be assigned
  • Minimum Qualifications (Education/Experience):
  • Fluency in both oral and written English and Kiswahili
  • Extensive business experience in private and social sectors
  • Experience running a business and/or managing a large business unit
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite especially MS Word and MS Excel.
  • University degree in business administration, finance or related field
