Program Description: The
Research Care and Training Program (RCTP), is collaboration between Kenya
Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), University of California, San Francisco
(UCSF) and University of Washington (UW).
RCTP leads the Family AIDS Care and Education Services
(FACES) program, a comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment program
working in over 100 clinics in Nyanza Province, Kenya.
RCTP is urgently seeking motivated, proactive individuals
with requisite experience to fill the following vacancies for Nurses-ART Delivery,
and Motor Cycle Riders for a project known as SEARCH (The Sustainable East
Africa Research in Community Health) study.
SEARCH is a community cluster randomized trial in Uganda and
Kenya of widespread early community wide antiretroviral therapy (ART) vs.
standard of care, where primary endpoints will include both community health
and community economic status.
We are conducting a household census in 12 communities and
annual multi disease diagnostic health campaigns.
We are also be supporting ART Delivery through FACES
Clinics.

Responsibilities:
- Daily
collection of laboratory samples from study intervention clinics
- Daily
delivery of laboratory test results to study clinics
- Sample
networking across study clinics and laboratory testing sites
- Maintain
motor cycle in good working condition and maintain up to date work ticket
- Any other
study related duties assigned by the management and Laboratory coordinator
Requirements:
- KCSE Certificate
with a minimum mean grade of ( C-)
- Current
Motorcycle driving/riding license and a Certificate of good conduct
- Must be
over 25years of age
- Good
communication skills and a team player
- 2 years’
riding experience on rough terrains
- Preferably
residents of the area well versed with the geography of the area.
- Experience
in basic mechanical skills is also an added advantage
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be a
team player and motivator
- Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills:
- Communicate
effectively both orally and in writing in English
and Dholuo
- Maintain
frequent contact using cell phone
- Keen to
detail
