The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) is a State
Corporation established under the Energy Act 2006.;
The Commission is mandated as the energy sector regulatory
agency responsible for economic and technical regulation of Electric Power,
Renewable Energy and Downstream Petroleum sub-sectors.
To achieve this mandate the Commission is seeking to recruit
suitably qualified, experienced, result oriented and highly motivated
individuals to fill the following positions:
Technical Officer, Petroleum (ERC /TOP/02.14 Job Grade 6)
Reporting to the Senior Manager Petroleum, the position
holder will assist in development of standards and inspections of petroleum
facilities to ensure compliance with Energy Act 2006.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in
the development , review and implementation of standards and codes of
practice for the petroleum sub sector;
- Inspect
petroleum installations for compliance with regulations license conditions
and standards;
- Coordinate
with other statutory authorities for joint facilities inspections;
- Maintain
an accurate register of licensed petroleum dealers;
- Receive
and act on complaints and accidents reports related to petroleum; and
- Prepare
timely and accurate reports.
Qualification, Experience and skills
- A Bachelor’s
degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences from a recognized university.
- At least
three (3) years relevant experience.
- Good
knowledge of the petroleum energy sub sector.
- Excellent
analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proven
competency in computer literacy.
