Marakwet County wishes to recruit a qualified person to fill the position of County Executive Committee Finance, and Economic Planning as per the Constitution of Kenya 2010 Article 176 and Section 45 of the County Government Act 2012.

Salary Scale: KShs 225,000Terms of Service: Contract

Duties

• In charge of the Department
• Supervise the Administration of delivery of service in the County and to all departments and other agencies.
• Provide strategic Policy direction in the County
• Promotion of National Values and Principals of good Governance as outlined in Article 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.
• Appointment of Accounting Officers
• Perform any other duty as may be required by the Constitution and National Law.

Requirements

• Must be a Kenyan Citizen.
• Be a holder of first degree in relevant field from a University recognized in Kenya, a master degree will be added advantage
• Have a relevant knowledge and working experience of not less than 10 years, five of which must be on managerial position in the relevant field in public service or private sector.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Devolution, County Integrated Development Plan and Public Financial Management.
• Must be conversant with Computerized Accounting Packages.
• Must be a CPA (K) holder or its equivalent.
• Be a strategic thinker and have a thorough knowledge of the County.
• Have the ability to mobilize resources
• Must satisfy requirement of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010, on leadership and integrity.
• Membership of Professional body and knowledge of IFMIS shall be added advantage.
