About US Embassy in Uganda:
The United States has enjoyed diplomatic relations with Uganda for over 30 years.  Ambassador Scott H. DeLisi currently heads the U.S Mission to Uganda.  The Mission is composed of several offices and organizations all working under the auspices of the Embassy and at the direction of the Ambassador.
Job Summary: The Records Management Coordinator will primarily be responsible for the management of unclassified records and correspondence.  The job holder will act as the authority on records and correspondence processing, controlling and retention. The incumbent stores, provides guidance and training in records management to Office Managers.  The incumbent serves as the alternate Travel Coordinator and Roving Secretary.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
NOTE:  All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
  • The prospective applicant should have completed secondary school education
  • At least two years’ experience in records and correspondence management.  A secretarial background and experience with travel logistics are strengths.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of office and administrative procedures.  This should include general secretarial and office practices; regulations on unclassified correspondence control, handling and records management. 
  • Good knowledge of English grammar, document formats and layout, and mail handling are needed.  
  • Possess the ability to analyze existing records management systems and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements to enhance efficiency. 
  • Ability to explain procedures and requirements to USAID Mission personnel. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required. 
  • Familiarity with computer software such as Word, Excel, Power point, etc.
Language Proficiency:  Level IV fluent in English language both written and oral communication.
