Institute of Customer Service in Kenya
seeks a Manager – Membership and Administration to lead in membership
recruitment and development and handle the institute’s administrative docket.
The role will be responsible for
membership recruitment and development, managing communications and events
(including trainings, membership forums and conferences) and handling
administration of the Institute’s affairs.
The role will also involve establishment
and maintenance of relationships with sponsors, partners and other ICS
stakeholders as well as coordination of the board.
The ideal candidate should be able to
work successfully with limited supervision, both independently and within a
team.
The Manager – Membership and
Administration reports to the Chairperson of the Board, and works closely with
board members and board committees collaboratively and creatively to achieve
the Institute’s vision and strategy.
Main Purpose
of the Job:
To provide all-round support in
membership recruitment, development and management as well as managing
relationships with stakeholders, communication and co-ordination of events and
activities, and overall administration of the institution.
Main Responsibilities/Job Summary
(Primary deliverables of role and its scope)
1. Solicit membership (new and
renewing) from all membership categories, coordinates and implements strategies
to retain existing members.
2. Solicit ICS sponsorships,
advertisement opportunities, and registration of members to professional
development events.
3. Provide a high level of customer
service including building strong relationships with members, non-members,
sponsors, partners and other stakeholders.
4. Represent ICS and conducts outreach
at events, meetings and other opportunities as needed. These may include
conferences, members’ forums and seminars.
5. Perform administrative tasks
related to membership and payment processing, applications,
enquiry handling and coordination.
6. Coordinate ICS events and
activities and prepare management reports.
7. Coordinate and handles negotiations
and payments with ICS suppliers.
8. Coordinate Board Meetings and
prepares board reports in liaison with Company Secretary.
9. Implement ICS communication strategy
in consultation with the ICS chairperson.
10. Proactively manage the
availability of information in appropriate communication channels such
as emails, websites and social media
portals.
11. Ensure the company’s brands are
appropriately represented in all significant industry forums
and events.

Education:
Degree in business administration,
marketing or public relations.
Experience:
At least 3 years working
experience in a member based organization or in a similar role in a busy
environment. Experience in business development will be an added advantage.
