UN Internships in Administrationn

Responsibilities

Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background; the intern's assigned office as well as the internship period.
  • Assist the Administrative Assistant in updating reports for the following processes :
    1. Low value requisition - Updating the excel report - Forwarding the request to Budget section - Keeping track and filing requisition requests
    2. Exporting and summarizing the Equip requisition from Lotus Notes Application.
  • Vendor payments for all the FMTS payments including the maintenance contracts & other contracts– - Submitting the Service performance certificates to Budget Section and records maintained in the Delivery book, - Recording on Payment log book and updating the payment in Excel.
  • Technical Evaluation of RFPs - Assist the Administrative Assistant in coordinating the evaluation meeting by preparing the required meeting documents. - Assist in compiling technical evaluation report.
  • To perform any other duty as may be delegated by the Administrative Assistant.
    Education
  • Applicants must be enrolled in at least the third year of a first university degree program or in a graduate school (second university degree or higher) program at the time of application, commencement and during the internship.
  • Be computer literate in standard software applications;
  • Have demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and
  • Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
  • Studies in Business Administration or related studies required.
    Work Experience
  • Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the programme.
    Languages
  • English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the internship, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of a second official UN language preferably French is desirable.

  • A letter from your university clearly indicating the status of your enrollment, what programme you are enrolled in and the anticipated date of graduation from the programme.
