WASH Project Manager Vacancy in Dadaab, Kenya: The NRC Kenya programme is part of the NRC Horn of Africa & Yemen regional programme.

The WASH Project Manager (WASH PM) is responsible for the overall planning and implementation of the NRC Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Programme in Dadaab area, including budget and staff management. The PM also creates and maintains relationship with donor and provides reporting to the donors.

Job description

Develop, coordinate and manage WASH project in Dadaab in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements.

Manage, train and develop the WASH project team

Ensure high technical quality and transparent processes

Adherence to WASH tools and handbooks and other NRC policies

Represent NRC WASH in internal and external forums

Responsible for project documentation

Develop, manage and monitor the budget(s) according to Financial Handbook and donor requirements.

Transparent and cost efficient procurement of goods

Promote the rights of refugees and explore and asses new and better ways to assist

Implement project specific protection priorities
Specific responsibilities are:

Manage, coordinate, develop and expand NRC’s WASH projects in Dadaab area

Contribute to Plan of Action and future activities of NRC

Develop/Implement the planning for the extension of NRC’s WASH team and activities

Quality control of all WASH activities - travel regularly to all the sites of implementation of WASH activities, ensuring that all activities are in accordance with norms and standards
Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience from working as a Project Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context

Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts

Technical WASH expertise

Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities

Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile

Fluency in English, both written and verbal

Valid driver’s license
