Danya International NGO Jobs In Kenya

In addition to programmatic responsibilities, this position will also support all business development initiatives for the growing organization.
Responsibilities:
Leadership
  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for Danya’s current and future programs
  • Responsible for managing local project teams across multiple projects to ensure high impact results
  • Lead multiple business development initiatives to support growth of the organization
  • Represent Danya before stakeholders and oversee implementation of activities throughout the Africa region
  • Contribute to annual work planning
  • Establish and maintain a productive relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, government officials, NGOs and community based organizations
  • Work collaboratively with Africa regional project team members and US-based headquarters to ensure necessary program planning, development, resource availability and management activities function smoothly and efficiently
    Management
  • Manage multiple local project staff across multiple countries to ensure on time, high-quality deliverables and assure proper financial projections, reporting, spending and compliance with project terms and conditions.
  • Promote and support the dissemination of best practices among the project teams
  • Contribute to timely, accurate and appropriate reporting of program activities and results to the donor, including progress reports, and annual reports
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Graduate degree in international development, public health, agriculture or other related field
  • A minimum of 8+ years of senior level international development experience with at least three in Africa
  • Demonstrated experience managing public health or food security projects of over $1,000,000 US per year in the Africa region
  • Successful management of large USAID and or CDC funded programs
  • Proven track record of resource mobilization with USAID or CDC
  • Experience developing successful, replicable and sustainable projects
  • Expertise in research to practice – identifying best practices and adapting them to program realities
  • A team player accustomed to building team capacity, delegating working teams, and developing communities of learning among host country partners and counterparts
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, and oral presentation skills
  • Strong change management, results oriented and decision making skills
  • Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience and understanding of Global Health Initiative and Feed the Future frameworks
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally
