The above vacancy has arisen in the finance department of Security Group(k) Ltd to be filled by February 10th 2014

About this position
The position involves the day to day accounting functions and maintenance of the general ledger.
The holder of the position will be reporting to the Chief Accountant.

Areas of responsibility

• Review the bank reconciliation on a monthly basis and ensure all reconciliation issues are closed.
• Monthly review of payments and trial balance.
• Accounts Receivable management. Review all outstanding invoices not paid for in the month and accrued for in the monthly results.
• Ensure timely payment and filing of all statutory deductions as required by the law.
• Ensuring that the internal controls in Financial Accounts department are adhered to
• Support and assist in external audits
• Ensure all accounting records are ready for quarterly and annual internal audits.

Qualifications

• At least CPA Part III
• At least 3 years’ experience in busy accounting environment and preferably service industry with external audit background.
• Hands-on experience in Tax (VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, Standard Levy & Income Tax)
• Hands-on experience and knowledge in implementing stock control procedures
• Hands-on experience and knowledge in implementing stock control procedures
• A degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance would be an added advantage.
