Position: Lecturer (Full time)

Hekima Institute of Peace Studies and International Relations (HIPSIR) is currently recruiting for the position of lecturer in peace studies and international relations on full time basis. This position is open to the diverse areas of interdisciplinary expertise in social sciences.

Qualifications and Experience

• Earned Ph.D. from a recognized university in peace studies, international relations, political science, sociology, anthropology, development, with a background in peace and conflict studies.
• At least 1- 4 years’ experience of teaching at University level. Evidence of teaching during Ph.D. studies is an added advantage.
• Demonstrate evidence of outstanding ability to communicate effectively and possess good interpersonal skills.
• Evidence of capability to analyze the current trends in conflict, diplomacy or mediation.

Duties and responsibilities

• Teaching inter-disciplinary courses in peace studies and international relations
• Participating in research projects
• Supervising thesis
• Academic advising
• Assisting in academic administrative tasks

• Certified copies of transcripts and certificates of all the post-secondary institutions attended
• Secondary school certificate and leaving certificate
• Certified copy of ID or Passport
• 3 letters of recommendation from the referees mentioned and none should be a relative
• 1 page statement of purpose on your vision and capability for the position applied for
• Latest pay-slip in the current employment
• Certificate of good conduct will be required for successful candidates
