Women & Youth Micro Finance (WAYOMIF) is a Faith Based Micro-Finance Institution of the Anglican Diocese of Southern Nyanza.

The Head Office is based in Homa-Bay Town at the Church of Christ the Healer Cathedral next to Homa-Bay County Hospital.

The Diocese is seeking to recruit a dynamic, innovative, energetic, self motivated, practicing Christian and experienced person
to fill the following position.

Job Title: Micro Finance Officer

Reports functionally to the Management Committee and administratively to the Business and Operations Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Develop Annual Plans and Budgets for the scheme.
• To design, develop and review policies and documents regulating the scheme.
• Coordinate and supervise existing clients with the aim of increasing customer base and increased loan repayments.
• Coordinating the loan processing for clients.
• Appraising and advising members on loan eligibility.
• Ensuring completeness of loan application forms and adequacy of information provided.
• Ensuring compliance of loan procedures as per the policy guideline and other legal requirements.
• Generating comprehensive regular monthly periodic reports on the status of the Scheme to the Management.
• Developing new products that are affordable to vulnerable groups.
• Maintain members’ personal accounts.
• Oversee the coordination of the grassroots structures within the scheme.
• Periodically advising on the adequacy of the loan appraisal tools available. Daily updating and continuous monitoring
• of customers’ accounts.
• Supervise and support both full time and part time staff.
• Ensure prompt posting and accuracy of entries in the QuickBooks accounting system.
• Liaise with the Accounts Assistant to ensure that the WAYOMIF cash books are promptly posted and accurate and all
• loans granted are promptly and adequately insured.
• Ensuring accuracy, completeness and integrity of cash operations both in the office and in the field among group and
• individual members.
• Updating of the loan book on monthly basis.
• Serve as a Secretary to both the Management and Credit Committees.
• Regular briefs to the Management.
• Encourage the use of The M-Pesa Business lines by members to enhance the efficiency of field operations.

Academic/Professional qualifications, Experience and Skills

• We are looking for a person who is a Holder of a Diploma in Micro Finance or any related field (Persons with CPA Part II or
• with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance options will have an added advantage).
• The person should be proficient in
• computer skills i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel etc. and have a working knowledge of QuickBooks accounting system.
• He or she must have good and effective communication skills, self driven, good organizational and work skills, ability to go beyond the
• scope of work required, able to meet deadlines, a person of integrity and team player.
• He or she must be ready to work extra hours and also on week-ends when necessary. Preference will be given to practicing Anglicans.
• The ideal candidate should have a minimum of one year experience preferably in the financial sector and aged between 25 – 35
• years.
