About the Opportunity:  
Global Communities a Senior Driver, reporting directly to the Logistics Officer  to support the Improved Services for Vulnerable Populations (ISVP) Program funded by USAID through PEPFAR.
Position Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Driver will work within the Administration & Finance department and is accountable for support & transport services to all program activities. In particular, s/he will be responsible for:

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist and support the office in the daily transport  program business related activities,
  • Responsible of vehicles maintenance and repairs request and report,
  • Accurately fill the vehicle mileage log on every trip made and ensure proper filing is done ;
  • Ensure proper management of fuel/Gas ;
  • Report to  the Director of operations and Logistic Officer any defects, routine maintenance schedule and any accident involving Global Communities vehicle, includes filling a vehicle accident report;
  • Ensure all the vehicles  clean on daily basis and well maintained;
  • Carry out daily checks on the vehicle (Items to be checked include but are not limited to: tires, rims, tire pressures, battery, windows, doors, wipers, parking brake, spare tire, engine coolant, oil level, windscreen washer, all lights, jack, wheel spanner, check for any leaks of vehicle fluids, and anybody damage);
  • Implement auto safety procedures whenever handling a motor vehicle; includes ensuring passenger safety and comfort;
  • Ensure that all passengers are fitted with a seat belt at all times;
  • Updating emergency contact document kept in the vehicle;
  • Report to the Director of Operations and the Logistic Officer any requests made for what might be considered inappropriate use of the vehicle or inappropriate carriage of goods;
  • Ensure and report on equipment like first aid boxes, fire extinguishers, flash light, tow ropes, jumper cables and other tools are always in a serviceable condition;
  • Adhere to Rwanda traffic  code & regulation while driving;
  • Follow all Global Communities rules and regulations to ensure safe driving to include but not limited to not using a cell phone while driving, driving at a safe speed that accounts for road and weather conditions, and not driving when there is a danger of falling asleep.
  • Adhere to a strict “no alcohol” consumption policy while on duty, including prior to eight  (8) hours of official duty;
  • Provide other transport  support services as directed by Supervisor;
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of secondary diploma education (A2) and at least two years of experience as Senior driver (Charroi).
  • Certificate in mechanics
  • Experience working with international organizations
LANGUAGE SKILLS 
Fluency in verbal English and Kinyarwanda;
