OGRA Foundation PMTCT Nurse Job in Kisumu Kenya

Background: OGRA Foundation is a tax-exempt Kenyan Non-governmental Organization founded in 2000 as a youth development group.

In 2005 it was elevated to a full-fledged NGO to enable it expand its reach within Nyanza Province.

Today it is one of Western Kenya’s leading Medical emergency and relief Organization active in 2 counties, namely Kisumu and Homa-bay.

OGRA Foundation is currently looking for able professional to fill the following position in the organization:

PMTCT Nurse

Overall Job Function: Provide daily on-site, PMTCT-related support and mentoring to patients at the facility on improved quality management of prevention, care, and treatment.

Key Responsibilities

·         Ensure all women of reproductive health access PMTCT services.

·         Ensure that all HIV Exposed Infants (HEI) access minimum package of care.

·         Strengthen adherence counseling.

·         Ensure adequate defaulter tracing.

·         Ensure clients get the best nursing care.

·         Any other duties as directed by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

·         Diploma or degree in nursing from a recognized institution and registered with Nursing Council of Kenya

·         At least two years’ experience in the care of patients affected by HIV/AIDS, PMTCT, Safe delivery practices and Care of the newborn.

·         Ability to work well within a team and build positive team spirit.

·         Highly self-motivated, ability to pay attention to details and work under pressure in a rural set up.

·         Ability to plan, organize, manage time to meet deadlines.
